We all know the oceanfront is clearly the place for bicycle friendly convenience.... but what about the rest of the area?
I live in Kempsville. I enjoy riding my bicycle to dinner to avoid the evening rush hour traffic... but a problem I do have with the area, is the lack of Bicycle racks. Usually I do not ride my bicycle to places I cannot keep an eye on it. We all know if someone truly wants your bike, they will find a way. But help me keep it safe from the 99%.
Most places I go would require me to carry a 6ft cable or longer to be able to lock up my bike. Sure, a U lock will lock my bike to itself and render it un-rideable, but it is easily stolen and the bad guys can work in the comfort of their own homes to cut the lock off.
How do we get shopping centers and restaurants to become more bicycle aware? In 6 months it will not be my problem... but today, I wanna ride my bike to get something to eat.
I miss Japan.
