Miles for Missions

Chunk and I are on a mission... to raise money for Genesis Ministry's Missions Team! We are asking for pledges per mile that we ride in the month of April to fund our church's trip to WV in support of World Vision this summer. Every penny counts, so even a penny per mile pledge would be fantastic!

Our mission trip in June will support World Vision's goal to build a better world for children. We will travel to the mountains of West Virginia to work on dilapidated houses and outreach in the community as witnesses for Christ. Want to know more about World Vision? Visit www.worldvision.org.

To donate, visit our Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/miles4genesis) and pledge via post or message. You can also respond to this post or send us an email with your pledge amount. Our miles will be tracked via Garmin routes that will be posted to the FB page daily. At the end of the month we will tally our total miles and collect the donations. We hope you'll support this great cause!

Chunk debunks shrinkage

While visiting family up in Northern Virginia a couple weekends ago I had the luxury of getting out for a nice Sunday morning ride. Weatherman had my back as the high was to be in the mid 50's, alas that was afternoon high. Tartar sauce!

After careful embrocation calculation and selection of my favorite red argyle socks I set outside to get ready for the blast that would be with me for the next hour or more. TV says it's 45 out, it's all good.

If ever a ginormous ball of flame could be a good thing, today was that day! The sun beamed brightly and my wiener wanted to get in on some of the action!

Have a great day peeps

Monster Cross Course Recce

It was a wintry day in Chesterfield, VA. Temps were in the low 30's. A mix of snow and sleet was falling between the bare trees that surrounded the muddy cyclocross course. If you were dumb enough to be out in this weather at Pocahontas State Park, you would have seen two Team CHUNK riders laboriously trying to make up for failed race preparation by getting a sneak peek of the Monster Cross course. That's right. The smell of mud and embrocation was in the air.
If you blinked you would have missed us. We intended to ride 26 miles, but dadgum it was cold! We only lasted about 8, but we looked good doing it! Definitely excited for next week's race. Chuck is riding in the 40+ division and Erin will ride the 26-mile route. Come out to watch us and the other Team CHUNK riders crush it at Monster Cross 2012!
